Charlotte McAllister Collins, 62, of Accomac, Va., passed away Monday, May 11, 2009 at her residence. Reared in Parksley, she was the daughter of the late Joseph McAllister and the late Gladys Budd McAllister. Charlotte was a native of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. She fished its waters, hunted its woods and walked its marshes. She loved the Shore from her first breath and with her last one. She is Native American from her father's and mother's side of her family and was Senior Clanmother, Fox Clan, for the Assateague Indians of Virignia. She made her home in Accomac. Charlotte wrote short stories and was an artist in pen and ink and watercolor. She was a member of the Assateague Natives of Virginia. She is survived by Donna Parks of Parksley, Va. and Ann Devletian of Accomac, Va.; a nephew, Wayne Parks and family; a niece, JoLynn Parks and family, and many good friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
