Charles Ward, Sr.

Charles Manning Ward, Sr., 57, husband of Linda Ward and a resident of Machipongo, VA, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at his residence. A native of Machipongo, he was the son of the late Austin Carroll Ward, Jr. and the late Elizabeth Dae Lewis Ward. He was the former Director of Riverside Shore Cancer Center. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Ashley Connell and her husband, Chad, of Toano, VA, Michelle Moore and her husband, Christopher, of Exmore, VA, Holly Beiler and her husband, Jesse, of Green Bay, VA, Michael Pizzuto of Watertown, NY, Charles Ward, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA; three brothers, Austin C. Ward, III and his wife, Kate, of Machipongo, Michael B. Ward and his wife, Debbie, of Machipongo, Richard A. Ward and his wife, Marianne, of Machipongo; a sister, Carolyn W. Gaskins and her husband, Woody, of Machipongo; twelve grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, Olivia, Carlie, McKenzie, Logan, Cameron, Matthew, Collin, Isabella, Aaron, Josh; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be conducted Monday, November 17, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Franktown United Methodist Church with Reverend Judith Worthington officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Shore Memorial Auxiliary, c/o Debbie Cooley, Post Office Box 194, Jamesville, VA 23398.
