Charles Thomas Hrubes

August 6, 1934 — March 28, 2006

Mr. Charles Thomas Hrubes, 71, husband of Barbara J. Hrubes and a resident of Exmore passed away at his residence Tuesday, March 28, 2006. He was a native of Babylon, Long Island, N.Y. and was the son of the late Charles Hrubes and the late Catherine Hrubes. Mr. Hrubes, a U.S. Army Veteran was credited with saving the lives of two civilian Koreans and received commendations for his heroic actions while serving in the U.S. Army 7th Infantry Divison. He was a retired Electrical Contractor. Other than his wife, he is survived by three children, Tom Hrubes and his wife Maria of Exmore, Va., Steve Hrubes and his wife Betty of Nandua, Va., Laura Savage and her Fiance` Michael Drummond of Belle Haven, Va.; a brother, John Hrubes and his wife Kathy, and a sister, Carol Kudler and her husband Harvey both of Florida; five grandchildren, Michael, T.J., Tyler, Rob, and Rachel. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 11:00 AM from the graveside of Belle Haven Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth T. Armstrong officiating. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Eastern Shore, P.O. Box 316, Parksley, Va. 23421. Arrangements made by Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore.
