Ceré Michelle Duer

Ceré Michelle Duer, 55, wife of Rodney W. Brown and a resident of Norfolk, VA, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Born in Alexandria and reared in Exmore, Virginia, she was the daughter of Carter Holman Duer and his wife, Helen, of Georgetown, Kentucky and the late Ann Allen Stewart. She was a registered nurse at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk, and numerous nursing organizations. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mears Green of Southgate, KY; three sisters, Deborah Sadler and her husband, Jim, of McAlester, OK, Teresa Duer Ajampur and Donna Duer, both of Georgetown, KY; a brother, John Carter Duer and his wife, Tina, of Baird, NJ. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with Dick Baker officiating. A private interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery.
