Catherine Dunton Doughty

Catherine Dunton Doughty, 89, wife of George Nottingham Doughty and a resident of Cape Charles, VA, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Cape Charles, she was the daughter of the late Richard Eubank Dunton and the late Florence Lambertson Dunton. She was a retired office manager for Rite Aid Pharmacy in Wilmington, DE, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Northampton Chapter #2, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player. Other than her husband, she is survived by three nieces, Kitty McCarthy of Nassawadox, Linda D. Jones of Cheriton, VA, Joan D. Fish of Chincoteague, VA; three nephews, Dixon Leatherbury of Machipongo, VA, Fletcher Dunton of Suffolk, VA, William Henry "Hank" Dunton of Richmond, VA; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Mrs Doughty was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice Ashby and two brothers, Richard Dunton and Eubank Dunton. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church with Reverends Elizabeth A. Lutz and Jack D. Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Cape Charles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Ida Robbins, 23089 Carr Lane, Cape Charles, VA 23310.
