Carrie Oakley Dryden

Mrs. Carrie Oakley Dryden, 88, of Nassawadox, formerly of Seaford, Delaware, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. A native of Northampton County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William Ernest Oakley, Sr. and the late Caroline Moore Oakley. She was a retired nursing assistant for Peninsula Regional Medical Center and Shore Memorial Hospital and she was a Methodist. Mrs. Dryden is survived by a daughter, Bettie Bennett Timmons of Laurel, DE; two sisters, Margaret Westfall and her husband Clayton of San Diego, CA, Annie Brady and her husband Walter of Cheriton, VA; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ethel Barcroft, Mary Robbins, and a brother, Samuel Oakley. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the graveside of Cape Charles Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Edwards officiating.
