Carolyn M. Hopkins

Carolyn Murphy Hopkins, 79, wife of the late William C. Hopkins, Jr. and a resident of Belle Haven, Va., passed away Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Shore Memorial Hospital. A native of Eastville, Va., she was the daughter of the late William Clyde Murphy and the late Ora Bassett Murphy. Mrs. Hopkins was a retired secretary for Virginia Tech Agricultural Research and Extension Center, Eastern Shore, and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Exmore. She is survived by two children, Patricia H. Bero of Richmond, Va. and W. Clinton Hopkins, III of Belle Haven, Va., a brother, William Clyde Murphy & his wife Gerry of Rockville, Md., one granddaughter, Erin Claire Bero of Richmond, Va. She was predeceased by a brother, John Walter Murphy. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 30th, at 2:00 PM from Epworth United Methodist Church in Exmore with the Rev. Elizabeth P. Freund officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will joins friends at the Doughty Funeral Home Saturday evening from 7:00 to 8:00.
