Calvin L. Sturgis, Sr.

Mr. Calvin L. Sturgis, Sr., 83, husband of the late Ruth Kopplin Sturgis and a resident of Painter passed away Sunday, November 20, 2005 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. A Native of Painter he was the son of the late John T. and Beulah Sterling Sturgis. Mr. Sturgis was a farmer and a member of Painter-Garrison's United Methodist Church and a member of Ocean Masonic Lodge # 116 AF&AM. He is survived by two children, Linda S. Cutler and her husband Larry of Poquoson, Va., Sonny Sturgis and his wife Faith of Painter, Va.; six grandchildren, Laurel Haughton, Larry E. Cutler, Jr., Lucas S. Cutler, Calvin Lee Sturgis III, Whitney Sturgis and Michelle Williams; and two great grandsons, Andrew S. Cutler and Ryan Williams. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at 2:00 PM from the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with Pastor Tom Durrance officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
