Calvin M. Parks

February 12, 1927 — September 29, 2007

Mr. Calvin M. Parks, 80, husband of the late Verna Mae Parks and a resident of Exmore, passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Parks, a native of South Chesconnessex, was the son of the late William Samuel Parks and the late Hilda M. Parks. He was a retired accountant for Dulaney, Exmore, and KMC Foods. He worked part time for Aydelotte & Engler, Inc. Mr. Parks served in the United States Army and was a WWII veteran. He was a member of Belle Haven United Methodist Church, and Exmore Moose Lodge #683, where he served as past secretary and received the highest degree of Pilgrim. Mr. Parks is survived by two daughters, Carla Parks Zuchel and her husband, Joey of Painter, Va. and Teena Parks Haugh and her husband, Michael of Chincoteague, Va., a sister, Deanie Williams and her husband Charles of Onley, Va.; five grandchildren, Joseph P. "Jody" Zuchel and his wife Joy, Jaime Z. Moore and her husband Jerry, Rachel L. Haugh, S. Chase Haugh and Emily P. Haugh; two great grandchildren, Josie Raye Zuchel and John Gerald Moore II (due October). He was predeceased by a brother, William Cosby Parks and a nehphew, Chuck Williams. Funeral services will be conducted from the Doughty Funeral Home Monday, October 1, 2007 at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Charles Ligon officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Holly Cemetery in Onancock. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Eastern Shore, P.O. Box 316, Parksley, Va. 23421.
