Bruce Matthews

Bruce Carroll Mathews, 55, husband of Julie Clayton Mathews and a resident of Wachapreague, VA, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA. A native of Keller, he was the son of Anne Cropper Mathews of Wachapreague and the late Bruce G. Mathews. He was a maintenance groundskeeper for Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club and a Methodist.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Aaron Lee Mathews and his wife, Sabrena, of Virginia Beach, VA; and Bruce David Mathews of Keller; and a sister, Michelle M. Hart and her husband, Tommy, of Atlantic, VA.

A celebration of life service will be conducted Friday, December 29, 2023, at 2:00PM at Powelton Presbyterian Church with Vernon Bell officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to SPCA Eastern Shore Inc., P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418.
