Bruce Gary Mathews

Mr. Bruce Gary Mathews, 63, husband of Anne Cropper Mathews and a resident of Wachapreague passed away Friday, December 1, 2006 at his residence. A native of Glen Burnie, Maryland, he was the son of late James L. Mathews and the late Georgia Ridenbaugh Mathews. He was a retired Captain for the Virginia Marine Resource Commission and a United States Navy Veteran. Other than his wife, he is survived by two children, Michelle M. Hart and her husband Tommy of Atlantic, Va., Bruce Carroll Mathews and his wife Julie of Exmore, Va.; two grandchildren, Clara Anne DeLima of Atlantic, Va. and Aaron L. Mathews of Exmore, Va.; three brothers, David Mathews of Cumberland, Md., Phil Mathews of Glen Burnie, Md., John Donald Mathews of Crownsville, Md.; and a sister, Sally M. Haines of Glen Burnie. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Jim Mathews and two sisters, Jacqueline Mathews Kursch and Mary Mathews Sperry. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, December 3rd at 2:30 p.m. from the Powellton Presbyterian Church with Mr. Vernon Bell officiating.
