Bootsie Latimer Elliott of Cape Charles, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at St. Luke's VNA Hospice in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She was born in Weirwood, Va., the daughter of the late Kathryn and Milton Kellam. She lived most of her life in Cape Charles where she enjoyed gardening, roses and Chesapeake Bay sunsets from her porch. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, attended Capeville United Methodist Church and Trinity Wesleyan Church in Dover, Delaware. She moved to Dover, Delaware, in 1999 to be closer to her children and to spend as much time as possible with granddaughters, Katie and Kristi. While in Dover, she became a member of the Modern Maturity Center where she met many new friends coming together to enjoy daily lunches and weekly dinner dances. She is survived by a wonderful and steadfast companion, Frank McCoy, of Dover, DE. and three children: W.K. Latimer and wife, Gerry, of Waldorf, MD.; Kathy Cornell and husband, Dan, of Dover DE.; Nancy Leary and husband, John, and daughters, Katie and Kristi Coughlin, of Whitehall, PA.; a brother, Kendall Kellam and wife, Jeanne, of Huntsville TX.; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her first husband,George Perry Latimer, in 1981, and by her second husband, Gordon(Capt. Dick)Elliott, in 1994. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, January 14th, at Capeville United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM with the Rev. DeWayne Duncan and the Rev. Jack D. Pruitt officiating.
