Betty Scott

October 20, 1927 — February 6, 2015

Betty Wilson Scott, 87, wife of the late Albert Thomas "AT" Scott, Jr. and a resident of Townsend, VA, passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 at Kempsville Health and Rehab Center in Virginia Beach, VA. A native of Exmore, VA, she was the daughter of the late Paul R. Wilson and the late Cornelia Gladstone Wilson. She was a retired Registered Nurse and member of Capeville United Methodist Church. She graduated from Johnson Willis Nursing School in 1947, was Head Nurse for the late Dr. Joseph Gladstone from 1948 to 1959, was I.C.U. Supervisor for Northampton-Accomack Memorial Hospital and retired as Night Shift Nursing Supervisor in 1994.

She is survived by two sons, Paul Wilson Scott and his fiancée, Valerie, of Virginia Beach, Thomas Howard Scott of Seaview, VA and two grandchildren, Kendal Page Scott of Norfolk, VA and Ryan Thomas Scott of Birdsnest, VA. She was predeceased by a brother, Carl L. Wilson.

A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Cape Charles Cemetery with Reverends Elizabeth Lutz and Tammy Estep officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Capeville United Methodist Church, c/o H. H. Scott, Jr., 4301 Townsend Drive, Cape Charles, VA 23310.

The family wishes to thank all of the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Kempsville Health and Rehab Center for the exceptional care and kindness Betty received during her numerous stays and also a special thanks to two special caregivers, Mary Emma Addison and Joanne Edmondson.
