Bessie Parkerson Payne

Bessie Parkerson Payne, 79, wife of the late Louis G. Payne and a resident of Eastville, passed away at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox on Tuesday, May 10, 2005. Mrs. Payne, a native of Bridgetown, Virginia was the daughter of the late George L. Parkerson, Sr. and the late Mary Bradford Parkerson. She was a retired Cafeteria Manager for Northampton High School and was a member of the Eastville Baptist Church. Mrs. Payne is survived by two sons, John E. Payne and his wife Kathy of Eastville, Va.,and James C. Payne of Capeville, Va., one brother, John H. "Pete" Parkerson of Yorktown,Va.; three grandchildren, Jason T. , Adam J. and William "Brad" Payne; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, John Evan Payne, two sisters, Mary E. Butler and Nancy P. Moore and a brother, George L. Parkerson. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 13, 2005 at 2:00 PM from the Eastville Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Horner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore, Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Eastville Baptist Church, P.O.
