She was noted for making the best rolls and her baked goods when Bethel Church had their bazaar. She was a member of the Women of the Moose #683 and Bethel United Methodist Church in Jamesville, VA. She was a good daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Sue; her sons, Floyd, Jr. (Karen), Paul (Pam); her "adopted" daughter, Patricia Williams (Sammy); her grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Tori and Jillian Smith; her brothers, Frank Lafferty (Mary Esther), Grover Lafferty, Jr.; her sisters, Mary L. Bennett, Charlotte L. Whitman (George), Abbie L. Borum (Larry), Colleen L. Makin and Betty Jo L. Petty; several nieces and nephews; her cat, Tiger and her granddogs. Besides her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her sons, Reese Boyer Smith, Daniel Floyd Smith and her brothers, Edward Lee Lafferty and Bartlett H. Lafferty.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverends Paul Oh and Jack Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spina Bifida Association, 1600 Wilson Blvd., Suite 800, Arlington, VA 22209 or to Travis Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O.
