Barbara Outten Costin

Barbara Outten Costin, 81, a resident of 2500 Block East Little Creek Road, Norfolk, VA, peacefully went home to be with her Lord Thursday, October 22, 2009. A native of Cape Charles, VA, she was the daughter of the late Russell Outten and Julia Masenhimer Outten. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star Northampton Chapter #2. She is survived by her daughter, Winnie Stoneman and her husband Glenn; two grandchildren, Kim Boyd and her husband Chris, and Kenneth Stoneman; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jordan Boyd, all of Norfolk. Mrs. Costin was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, M. Bosco Costin; two brothers, William Outten and Russell Outten. The family would like to thank Sentara Home Health nurses, Roxie and Novelle, her aide for 5 years, and all of the home health and hospice team who cared for her during her illness. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 26, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Capeville Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Braswell officiating.
