Anne Bosley Hume (99), a resident of The Hermitage in Onancock and formerly of Concord Wharf in Northampton County, VA, died on Saturday September 26, 2015. Born in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late John Oliver Bosley and Katherine Hanby Bosley. Following her graduation from Beacom College in Wilmington, she was a member of the original staff of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Delaware. During WWII Mrs. Hume served as a volunteer Red Cross nurse. Mrs. Hume was a founding member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Woodstown, NJ. She was a member and former president of the Salem County Medical Auxiliary. Following her husband's retirement to the Eastern Shore, she was an active member of Hungars Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild. She was also a member of Northampton-Accomac Medical Auxiliary. Funeral Services will be held at The Hermitage, 23610 North St., Onancock on Wednesday, September 30th at 3:00 PM with Reverends Daniel Crockett and Harry Crandall officiating. There will be a private interment at Hungars Episcopal Church cemetery. Mrs. Hume was predeceased by her husband, W. Garrett Hume, MD. She is survived by three children, Dr. W. Garrett Hume III (Anne) of Emerald Isle, NC, Cynthia Hume Henderson (James) of Wilmington, DE and Jamesville, VA, John Austin Hume (Lorraine Parks) of Concord Wharf, VA, ten grand-children and fourteen great-grandchildren.
