Anna Farren Powell
November 12, 1927 — March 4, 2016
Anna Farren Powell, 88, wife of the late John T. Powell, Sr. and a resident of Birdsnest, VA, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 at her residence. A native of Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Farren and the late Mary Hultz Farren.
She is survived by five children, John T. Powell, Jr. and his wife, Dora, of Mexico, James Powell of Belle Haven, VA, Sharon P. Mapp of Birdsnest, Gary Powell and his wife, Chong, of Seoul, Korea, Randell Powell and his wife, Charlotte, of Wachapreague, VA; six grandchildren, Angie, Jason, Alex, Jordan, Matthew, Christopher and four great grandchildren, Sarah, Brady, Jacob and Kyleigh.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Father Rogelio L. Abadano officiating. Interment will follow in Quinby Cemetery. Family will join friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Intrepid Hospice Care, Post Office Box 770, Onley, VA 23418.
