Alice Franklin Drummond, 87, a resident of Painter, VA, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Painter, she was the daughter of the late Walter Nock Drummond and the late Dorothy Harris Drummond. She was a retired bookkeeper for Kellam Distributing Company, member and former longtime organist at Painter Garrison United Methodist Church and member of United Methodist Women, having served as District Treasurer.
She is survived four nieces, Deborah Kelly and her husband, Mike, of Painter, Marnette Zuchel of Charlotte, NC, Kelly McKnight and her husband, Joe, of Texas, Susan Drummond-Haas of Millsboro, DE; four nephews, Joey Zuchel of Quinby, VA, Robert Zuchel, Jr. of Norfolk, VA, Michael Drummond of Painter, Walter Nock Drummond, III of Wachapreague, VA; twelve great nieces and nephews and ten great-great nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by a brother, Walter Nock Drummond, Jr. and two sisters, Nancy Felt and Margaret Zuchel.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Reverends Rob Kelly and Steve Doan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heritage Hall Activity Fund, Post Office Box 176, Nassawadox, VA 23413 or to S.P.C.A. Animal Shelter, Post Office Box 164, Onley, Virginia 23418.
