Alfred Edgar Miles

Alfred Edgar Miles, better known as Butch, 66, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2007 at his residence in Chesterfield, VA. A native of Willis Wharf, he was the son of the late Edgar D. Miles and the late Flora Parks Miles. Mr. Miles was a retired chemical engineer for Philip Morris and a 1964 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). He is survived by three children, Eric A. Miles and his wife, Sara, of Palmyra, VA, Jason Hafner Miles and his wife, Elizabeth, of Gloucester, VA, and Ashley M. Shoval and her husband, Alon, of New York; a brother, Tommy Miles and his wife, Juanita, of Heathsville, VA; two sisters, Martha M. Kilmon and her husband, Gerald, of Onley, and Deborah Miles of St. Louis, MO; and six grandchildren, Hayden T. Miles, Jonah Shoval, Ellie G. Miles, Savannah R. Miles, Leo Shoval, and Noelle C. Miles. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the graveside of Belle Haven Cemetery with the Rev. W. Douglas Tanner officiating. Family will join friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 at the funeral home.
