Elaine Downing

Elaine Downing, 78, of Birdsnest, VA, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023.  She was born in Winter Haven, FL to the late Blaine Booher and the late Lucille Hall Booher.  Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Claude Downing and her sons, Tom Downing, grandson, Charles and Andy Downing; grandsons, Noah and Collin and Pat Downing; granddaughter, Marissa; brother James Booher and several cousins.

Elaine was a high school teacher in Wise County, VA schools, a librarian in Bridgeville, PA and a dispatcher for the Northampton County Sheriff’s Department in VA.

A Celebration of Life for Elaine will be held at a later date.
