Evelyn McCann “Judy” Pender, 95, wife of the late Norman L. Pender and a resident of Onley, VA, formerly of Richmond, VA, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Quail Run Assisted Living in Nelsonia, VA. A native of Richmond, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. McCann and the late Ola Verell McCann. She was a lifelong member of Boulevard United Methodist Church and served as secretary-treasurer for over 20 years and was a member and past president of Brandon Woman’s Club.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy P. Waller and her husband, Rick, of Onley; two grandchildren, Martha W. Simpson and her husband, Adam, of Melfa, VA, Amy W. Hartman and her husband, Jimmy, of Accomac, VA; two great grandchildren, Kristen and Anna Hartman. Mrs. Pender was predeceased by a brother, Joseph A. McCann.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond with Reverend F. Chancellor Hamilton officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Quail Run Assisted Living Activity Fund, P.O. Box 96, Nelsonia, VA 23414.
