Sallie Gaye Jones

Sallie G. Jones, 71, wife of Robert C. Jones and a resident of Jamesville, VA, formerly of Vienna, VA, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at her residence. A native of Springfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Morris Eikner and the late Gaye McGraw Eikner. She retired as a program director for USAID, traveled to Africa and the Near East working with organizations such as Save the Children, and studied and taught French and German.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Debra Perry and her husband, Ken, of Pleasanton, CA, Lynda Weller and her husband, Scot, of Oil City, PA, and Keith Moser and his wife, Allison, of Fairfax, VA; a step-daughter, Catherine Duffy and her husband, Mark, of St. Augustine, FL; a sister, Myrle V. Bowman of Bear, DE; two nephews; and seven grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with Pastor Rebecca McGee officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market Street, Suite #3, Onancock, VA 23417 or to a hospice in your locality.
